Welcome
to our Jefferson School website. I hope you find it informative and
useful.
I am committed to assuring that all children and youth
at the Jefferson School receive the highest level of compassionate,
professional care tailored to their educational needs and behavioral
and emotional health problems. Our devoted staff works hard each day
to help our students succeed. We are passionate about helping children
and youth learn and grow.
The
Jefferson School is a vital part of Sheppard
Pratt Health System’s array of behavioral health and special
education services. Visionary philanthropists Moses Sheppard and Enoch
Pratt began a tradition of thoughtful, state-of-the-art care for those
with mental illness in 1891 in Baltimore. We are honored to be part
of that continuing tradition as we serve children and youth needing
specialized services in Frederick County and the region.
Whether
you are a parent, guardian or family member of a Jefferson School student,
mental health or education professional, community member, agency representative,
or job applicant -- Thank you for visiting us online. If you need more
information or would like to visit our campus, please contact
the appropriate staff person and we will gladly assist you.
With warm regards,
Michael Priester, Ph.D.
Director, The Jefferson School
